Is the unity candle thing considered a reading? If so then we're going to have 2 or 3.

Re: How many readings are you having during the ceremony?
I met with my officiant on Saturday and she said that 3 readings is a good number, any more may be too much and the ceremony may run long, she suggested I have someone from my family do a reading, someone from FH's family do one, and the third be a couple whose relationship FH and I look up to

You're getting married at the RH where the ceremony tends to be about a half-hour. I think 3 readings might be a bit much in that time.
We had 1 reading plus the unity candle. I wanted to focus on our vows (which we wrote ourselves) and the sermon delivered by our officiant (Fr. Tom McCormick).

Oh I didn't even think about a couple we look up to.
Does the couple read something together?

We are having 2, to be even. New Testament is FH's friends and Old Testament is my Aunt. Our officiant is going to read the Responsorial Psalm.
