same with me....i blocked 20 rooms the night of the wedding and 5 the night before. and whatever rooms are not taken by one month before the wedding, they get taken out of my block so i am not responsible for them.

20... some for two nights and some for one... I am having TONS of out of town guests though.

I blocked 10 and they all went. At the last minute everyone decided they didn't want to drive home the night of the wedding and wanted to party with us at the hotel. A lot of guests didn't get the discounted rate because they waited too long to book.

We blocked 10 initially, but then we had to keep adding to the block because so many people stayed over. I think we wound up having 4 rooms for 2 nights and about 20-25 rooms booked for our wedding night. And we only live in White Plains, lol!

We used the Huntington Hilton and were very satisfied.

we blocked 60 rooms at the mariott - i have lots from OOT - i have to gurantee half but that is not a worry - i would have used two hotels but i want to provider transportation - so one hotel is easier

We blocked rooms at three hotels. I think it was 10, 15 and 15 so that is 40 in all.

I blocked 25 rooms.. We are inviting about 270.. and hope that only 210 come.. However, we and all our friends live in the city.. so, while mostly everyone's parents are on LI, we figure most will choose to stay over and not worry about driving..

10... we have a lot of people from Westchester and NJ and the northeast. I doubt many of them will use hotel rooms.

1. I am having a daytime wedding on Monday of a holiday weekend, many will have to work the next day.

2. I am not having kids and EVERYONE has kids (we are older) so they will go home.

3. My cousins and FSIL will just stay in their respective parents' houses to save $$$.

I just called today and blocked 15 but they said I can call back at any time to block more (if needed). I have a feeling I am going to need more since we are expecting alot of out of town guests and I know my parents and some family members are going to want to get a room the night of the wedding as well. (I live about 45 min from the reception hall).

I blocked 30, also because the Hilton doesn't charge for unused rooms. I wanted to be safe!! About 22 of them were booked!!

Most hotels will only let you start in blocks of 10 and then open more when that fills up.

We blocked 30 and had 55 people stay overnight. Our guest count was 250. We were not charged if they were not booked up.
