I think you usually have to supply at least one per guest so they all have the opportunity to toss the petals.

well we are having about 200-250 at the wedding.... but I'm sure only about 50-75 people usually go to the church, right? Should I make 100? or is this too much, too little??

It's really hard to determine how many will show up at the ceremony. I would make about 150 just to be safe. If you make extras, you can always give them away later. Or maybe you can have them sent to the hall so they can sprinkle the extra petals on your tables around the centerpieces? I always think it's better to make extra and be safe then to run out.

We had 225 guests (almost all came to the church) + a lot of my friends' parents and siblings came - I made about 100 but I lined the bottoms of the baskets with the cones, with the extra petals. We got 6 large bags of tossing petals from the florist. So maybe 1/2 of that for your guests?

We had 150 people at the wedding. We figured about 40 or 50 at most would show up at the church. I only made 50 petal cones and guess what?? more like 75 people came to the church and we didnt have enough!!! Always make more then you think you will need!! In your case I would make 100

my florist suggested getting baskets and decorating them and just putting the petals in the baskets... just a suggestion
