I would invite 125, because you may not get anyone who cant come. Unless it doesnt matter if you go over. I would have an A list and a B list and once you get no's then send out invites from the B list.

Re: How many should I invite?
They say 20% is usually a no show, so if you invite 150 roughly 30 will not come.....

Re: How many should I invite?
Just some advice! I needed 125 also and am having a hard time meeting it, we invited 154. I would say invite 160-165.

I agree, send out 125 and then send out a second round of invites as you get no's!

Re: How many should I invite?
I'd say the 155 range. They usually say you will get about 15-20% no's. We invited around there and our final count was 126.

ex: we invited 120 but only wanted around 70. so far we have 85 yes's and more people have called us this week to say they forgot and will be sending the RSVP's (a week late!!).

Re: How many should I invite?
I would have a few lists of people to invite. 1) must-have (family, bridal party, close friends) 2) really-like-to-have (close friends, family friends, etc) 3) last-minute backup (work friends, family backup, childhood friends). Of course send out your first choice first, but do so a little bit early and have their RSVP date earlier then you would usually have. Send some of your second list, so that you have some extra people. Once you get RSVP's back from your first and some second section, you should have an idea of your numbers. Then see if you need to fill in the gaps. Always send out initial invitations higher than your guest count, I would suggest 140-150.

This!
For my list, it was pretty easy to tell how many people would actually show up, but we've already had one couple surprise us and say yes who I thought would say no (and that's just from the save-the-dates - my grandpa booked a hotel room and I was positive he wouldn't be able to make it). I would invite just around how many you want, but have a second round ready to go out ASAP in case you need more.I wouldn't invite more than 20 people more than you want your max to be.

I agree with this!!! Send out your a list early and when you get no's then send out your b list to make your 125. Remember vendors count and children maybe half price?? Some vendors may count the bride and groom!

Re: How many should I invite?
I would say about 150 people. But it really also depends on how many out of town guests you have so you might want to factor those as well. HTH!

Re: How many should I invite?
I ended up with 18% rejections.. but I went down the list to see who I thought would come and who wouldnt come and I was pretty spot on with a few exceptions.
I have a friend who had 2 no's so inviting the 20% to get to your number is risky unless you are OK with paying for the overage.
Best bet is A and B list, however make sure you space out the time of when you send out the invites with the RSVP date(s) and then know that most people won't RSVP until the end.
Sorry its not such an easy question to answer!!
good luck!
