How many stepmoms/bonusMoms get to spend Christmas morning with the kids?
This is the first time in 3 years that my bonus daughter will wake up here!!! We are soooo excited! The last few years we opened gifts on Christmas eve & them she was with her bio-mom on Christmas morning. My son & I always opened gifts on Christmas morning, so it's nice to get back our usual tradition How about everyone else?

I also get to spend Christmas eve/morning with my SS. 2 years in a row now I love it, I'm so happy to be part of a family

Thanks Sassy! Merry Christmas to you & your family too! A bonusmom is really just a stepmom, but people in general stereotype 'stepmoms' as bad and uncaring. Here's a link to a website that promotes healthy blended families- BonusFamilies I know you have a good relationship with your son's bio-mom...but unfortunatly it's not always like that & the kids end up in the middle. In an effort to create a healthier environment on my side of the blended family I try to use the info in the link as much as possible. It's hard when someone on the team doesn't play fair.

Thanks I'll definitely be on that website a lot So far me and the bio mom do get a long, but I don't always agree with some of her Parenting decisions, but so far, we are able to work everything out, and we are always very nice towards each other. We are even able to go to my Bonus son's (LOL) outings together like his basketball game, etc. .. .

That's great - you guys are lucky! DH's kids always spend Christmas morning with their mom and we figure out our family Christmas on the closest weekend. This year we are lucky that their weekend is the weekend after Christmas and we can even pick them up Friday. So we will celebrate as soon as we get back to the house Friday morning.

FH always has his daughter the weekend before Christmas...and then again for New Year's. So...we had our Christmas on Sunday. It was so cute...she comes and wakes us up on Sunday morning to say that Santa remembered to bring her presents.
We made up this whole story that we let Santa know that she would be with us a few days early and if he could do us a favor and bring her presents to us early, blah, blah, blah. She had a blast...we all did!
Unfortnately...I don't know what kind of Christmas she will have at home...but at least we know she had a good one here.

Well my SS lives with us, so he will be waking up at home. I do not know if he will be spending the evening with us or with his mom, I hope he is, so we can all open presents at my mother's house

My stepson is here now. We luckily got Christmas Eve this year. We opened presents a little while ago and FH and FSS are out in the livingroom playing all the new playstaion games he got. I am on a short break now and I am off to the kitchen in a bit to cook us dinner. I wish we could have him Christmas morning, but I know we will one day!!

We've celebrated just about every holiday on a day other than the holiday & it always works out ok. I am really into decorating, cooking, baking & have big celebrations & I'm glad my bonusdaughter & DH are learning about that. It's a lot different at her other house. The holidays are the hardest time for a blended family I think, because someone always feels like the got the short end of the stick, we do the best we can. Glad all of my fellow stepmom/bonusmoms are having a nice holiday!!!
