How many times did you go dress shopping before you found 'The One?'UPDATED

I have only gone twice but I don't think it is going to get easier!!

I went to 3 stores before I really found 'the one'...I thought I found the one in Macys BUT when I basically wanted to change the whole dress I knew that it wasn't 'the one'

I found my dress at Lillettes in Baldwin...you should try there if you haven't already Good Luck

i went to about 10 salons and probably tried on close to 40 dresses or so....

sometimes it take more time and sometimes you try something on and then you 'think about it' for a while and go back to it.

i didn't have the 'oh my gosh, this is THE one moment'... it wasn't until i secured the right price and tried it on again five times that i said 'ok, this is it'....

just 1 store- i tried on around 20 dresses. the 3rd one i tried on was 'the one.'

1 1/2. I went with my cousin when she was looking, and tried one dress on and really liked it - but the lighting in the dressing room was terrible, so I wasn't like 'This is it'
I went back to the same place a few weeks later for myself, tried on about 5-6 dresses, didn't like any of them and the woman helping us said she had something she knew I would like. She brought in the same dress I had tried on weeks earlier! I went outside of the dressing room into the light and knew it was it.
I guess the dress found me

Moral of the story - ALWAYS try on what the ladies at the store suggest! They've been doing this for a long time and they know what they are talking about.

I went only once and i got the first dress i put on. I was lucky

I went dress shopping once I went to Estelles in Farmingdale and found a dress I really liked but it wasn't the one then I went to Bridal Reflections in massapequa and that where I found the one

I went to three salons, tried on tons of dresses, went back to the first salon because there were a couple I liked from my first trip but ended up ordering an entirely different dress.

I had this same post up a few weeks ago. I went to 4 places and I was so upset that i was never going to find 'the dress' Every dress I put on there was something I did not like about it. Until I found 'the one!!'

You will know when you find it, and as Kathleen said to me 'your mom will cry' It's so true! You will walk out of the dressing room glowing!! Just keep searching and try every dress on even if it doesnt look good on the hanger

Twice, 2 different stores. Ultimately went with Lillette's!!

I am in the process of narrowing my choices. I went to 8 places..tried on a million dresses and I think I have it narrowed down. I don't think I will ever get that OH MY GOD THIS IS IT!! moment, hopefully when I have it on after alterations and i am not so stressed.

I went to 5 salons and 2 sample sales before I found not one, but 2 dresses. I tossed and turned for 2 nights before realizing I had to pick one or I would never sleep again. (this wedding and this message board bring out the obssesive personality in me!) I had one of my BM's come with me and I chose my dress based on her normally-hard-to-please reaction!

i've looked at too many gowns to count and still haven't found it.

although i did try one on a few weeks ago that i can't get out of my head. i'm going to go try it on again september 10th. i'm praying i still love it & it looks good on me. otherwise, i give up!
