How many people would you suggest inviting if you want around 125-130 to attend? TIA!

Re: How many to invite?
I think it depends. If I invite 150 then 150 will show up because its just my whole family, FH's whole family and 3 tables of closest friends and bosses. Our family together makes up 120. (both my grandmothers had 8 brothers and sisters!) I have never seen one of my family members not go to a wedding and my friends can't wait.
I think you can count all family as a yes right and your closest friends will go right? I mean I think people invite over when it their parents friends or people they don't talk to all the time. Maybe invite 150? I don't know...you are so nice I think everyone you invite would go. LOL This is a hard question though.

Re: How many to invite?
I guaranteed 125 but my list is at 183 and I am still waiting on another 30 or so from my mom! We are hoping to come in around 150. I am anticipating around 50 no's. I would invite maybe around 160 to 175 to come in around the 135 mark. Just my logic

ITA, this is a hard question. If you think all of your family will show up then they will! That's kind of how I am... most of the family is already asking and anticipating on being there, so I dont' think we'll have that many no's. Most of the rehearsal halls said anticipate 10% will not go though.

Re: How many to invite?
We guaranteed 125 because we didn't want to guarantee 150 and have 140 show up. We have about 170 on our list I believe.. sooo many people

Re: How many to invite?
Our min. is 120 and we'd like to be as closed to 120-130 as possible. Our guest list was 151. They usually say the rule of thumb is you can expect between 10-15% no responses. Of course this varies.

Re: How many to invite?
plan on 18-20% declines.
we have 124 now are aiming for 100 - 125 max we can have a total of 144 invites if we invite the tier 2s.

Re: How many to invite?
I think it all depends on your crowd and how many OOT guests that you have. Some ppl will invite 120 and pretty much all will show. Others invite 150 and get 100.
When I was writing a rough draft of my glist I wrote next to the names if they would be a 'for sure' like mom, dad and BP and then others I wasn't sure about I wrote 'maybe' next to. This helped to see about how many ppl on my list may or may not show.

Re: How many to invite?
it really depends on your group - you know your family and friends - we didnt really have many 'surprises'
we invited 267 people and 177 showed up day (2 no shows)
most of the 'no's' were OOT guests - some OOT guests came alone w/out spouses/kids, etc. to cut costs

Re: How many to invite?
We wanted about 100 people. Invited closer to 140, and about 113 came. We were prepared to pay for all of the people in case by some random chance everyone said yes.

Re: How many to invite?
Our minimum is 120 and we invited 120. As the rsvp's come in and people say no (so far all yeses) we're going to send invites to B-listers.
We didn't go crazy inviting over the minimum because we don't want to be stuck paying for more than 120 in case everyone says 'yes.'
