good question, i need to know as well...

i MAY set 2 dates since we have lots of potential guests from OOT. if we get many no's from them we then have time to send out more locals...

Well.... in my case I know my family and FH's family very well and I know they won't RSVP so I'll have to spend weeks making phone calls. In order to give myself time to do that I have to set an early RSVP date. So I plan on setting my date for at least 6-8 weeks prior to the date my final count is actually do. But I am also doing an A/B list and I need the time so my invites are going out extra early.

I think it depends on when your hall wants a final headcount. Usually they want it the week before, and then you have to allow time for people who will forget to RSVP, that you will have to track down. My RSVP date is 4 weeks before the wedding date.

I gave a 6 week RSVP, but going to send out early hoping that people respond sooner so I can send more invites to the B-listers...

I'm doing four weeks... and I hope that I won't have to call too many people and remind them to respond (yeah, right!)
