How muc time do you need for photos before the wedding
We are seeing each other before the ceremony and are trying to figure out how much time we need for the posed shots. What do you girls think?
ETA: we have a small wedding party and small families. Just our parents and siblings.

My photographer said 4 hours. So, we took the pics 4 hours in advance and still ran out of time!!!

I think 1 1/2 -2 1/2 hours is good. It's hard for me to judge because we didn't see each other before the wedding. I know you said you have small families but think about the photos - for example - you and your mom, you and your dad, you and your sister then all of you together - it can add up.
Good luck! Your day is getting so close

My photographers said two to three hours at max... My groomsmen we late to the church and we had in actuality about an hour and a half... If you have a good Photographer they can make it up!!

Thats a good point- but I have one parent- my dad passed away- and one sister. I think 2 hours should be enough time.

Re: How muc time do you need for photos before the wedding
I voted for 3 hours (at least). We schedueled 2.5 hours and we ran over. I would plan as much time as you can! First of all, we planned to start taking pictures at 9 but I didn't finish getting dressed until closer to 9:30. Then, as you can imagine, people are all over the place and the photographers need to set up so we didn't start until late. We wanted to take a lot of big group pictures but we just ran out of time. If I could do it over again, I would start at least an hour earlier. If you don't have a lot of pictures to take, you might be able to start later but most people have a ton of pictures to take. And things always take longer than expected! It's better to be done early and relaxed than it is to be rushed and stressed!!!

I think it depends on the size of your bridal party. We only have 4 on each side.
I voted for 1 hour. We are getting to the hall about 1 1/2 hours before the wedding so we can take pictures separately. We are not seeing each other before the ceremony. This will allow us to take photos with out BM and GM.
During our cocktail our we will take the rest of the posed photos.
