have/ are you paying for alterations on your dress. I have a beaded organza layer. And I got qouted $120 just for the hem, which as first I was like 'What the %$#@ for, there's no cutting?!?!' She just has to raise the organza layer and cut and hem the bottom layer. Do you think it's so much because it's 2 layers as opposed to one? TIA

I am confused, you said theres no cutting but then you say all they are doing is raise the organza layer and cut and hem the bottom layer

Re: How much...
There is an organza layer over the dress. The organza can't be cut, just raised, but what is underneath the organza has to be cut and hemmed.

Re: How much...
Honestly, from what I've heard that's really not that bad although I think all wedding alterations/products are a complete ripoff. The place where I got my dress charges a flat fee of $200 and all she's doing for me is making the bustle b/c it has a corset top and the designer cuts her dresses to people around my height. I'm not even getting a French bustle, I'm getting the American one.

Re: How much...
I paid $100 for alterations and bustle from Phyllis cause there wasn't much hemming she needed to do and then I wanted a french bustle.

Re: How much...
Did your alterations include hem, bringing it in on the sides at all? I was qouted $200 for the hem and sides and completley forgot to ask about a bustle. I have to say the more I hear about this phyllis woman the more I want to use her!
