Does a MOB dress cost? My mom bought her's and it was crazy. Wanted to know if it is normal.

She spent $900. My mom has lost over 25lbs and is looking so cute. She fell in love with a dress and it made her feel good. I felt mad deterring her from the dress.

The ones my mom tried on and loved were $450 (Avanti) and $650 (Montage by Mon Cheri).
I thought these prices were
In the end, we happened to go into a store to see if they had anything and we found a dress that looks GREAT on her, a style that we previously thought would not flatter her (but does with this dress!), and the price is about half of the average cost of the two dresses above.

My mom fell in love with this dress and did not want to get it because of the price - but I talked her into in because I am her only daughter and she will only be a MOB once. But if she loves it and it is in the budget than why not??

It depends what she's looking for. I don't see my mom spending over $100. She's not the dressy dress type, and will probably buy a dress suite from Macy's or something. If she's looking for something fancy or from a bridal salon it would be in the hundreds.

My mom spent $120 on an awesome dress at Lord and Taylor. It was perfect and she looked great.

Your mom's dress cost more than my wedding dress!!!
But if she feels good and looks good and has the $$ to spend than I think it is AWESOME! Go Gonzo's mommy!

my mom tried on dresses on saturday that ranged from $200 to $1000. Her limit was $500 and I think she found a dress that she loved under that!

My mom didn't want anything too fancy since its more of a semi-formal wedding..so she spent $150 on hers from Chadwicks.

My mom is spending approx $1500 and my FMIL spent $140 It all depnds where they go and what they are looking for. My mom didn't want to spend that much but was having a hard time getting something that could be made longer (she's quite tall). None of the popular MOB dress designer could accomodate her height. Therefore she had no choice. My FMIL doesn't have the means to spend $800 or even $500 on a dress. So we went to a neighborhood shop that had some fancy dresses and she got hers there.
