How much are/did you pay for your Hawaiian Honeymoon?
I just received the following quotes from my agent and I`m wondering if they`re high, low or average: package price which includes round trip airfare from JFK, hotel (Sheraton or Hyatt) for 3 days in Oahu, 3 days in Kauai, 6 days in Maui, car rental in Kauai & Maui, inter island air, all taxes & breakfast each morning; the package which includes the Sheraton on all 3 is $5408 and the one that includes the Hyatt is $6498? What do you think?

I spending 5 nights on Maui and 5 nights on Kauai and my package is $5350. That includes airfare, interisland transfers, and a convertible on both islands. So, the quotes you got seem right around par.

I just got back from our Hawaiin Honeymoon. We payed about $7900 for first class airfare for roundtrip from NY, 4 nights on Kauai-Hyatt and 5 nights on Maui-Hyatt, interisland air,car on both islands. Without first class it would have been around $5400.

Did you get breakfast included in your package? Did you have to pay the $12 amenity fee? Anything else added to you package? What type of room did you get? Just wondering b/c look slike I am planning a similar trip.

Hawaii Price
My fi and I are staying 3 nights at the Hyatt in Kauai (mountain view), 8 nights at Hyatt in Maui(ocean front view), round trip airfare to from JFK, all interisland flights, rental car, breakfast every day for $6,600 so your sounds just about right. We booked through Liberty Travel if that helps.
Good luck!

We did get breakfast included. I think the $12 fee was only in Maui and yes, we did have to pay it. We booked a garden/lagoon room in Kaui and got upgraded to a ocean view room. We booked a partial ocean view room in Maui and got upgraded to an ocean view room but with a Queen bed instead of King.
We didn't have anything else except we upgraded on Kauai from a compact car to a Ford Explorer for $10 more a day. It wasn't definitely worth it. On Maui they wouldn't give us the same deal so we stayed with the compact.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

What did you think of the Maui Hyatt? Did you happen to see the sheraton while you were there? Travel message boards seem to favor the sheraton, but I am really undecided. Could you give me any details about the hyatt? How was the pool restaurants, etc? Thanks so much Karen.

LittleP -Look at the threads
You are getting the most day for the least amount of money, I would say that's a great deal! Who's your travel agent?

You are right, sounds like I'm getting a good deal (I was nervous that I was being overcharged). My agent is Jan Farro at Island Shores Travel in Massapequa. Her # is 516-798-2626.

They Hyatt in Maui was nice but the one in Kauai is better. The pool at the Hyatt was good. I actually like it better than the one in Kauai. We did go by the Sheraton. We actually had a drink at their bar by the pool. The Sheraton is by Black Rock which is a good place to snorkel. We didn't see any other area of the Sheraton but the pool area. It looked nice. It depends on what you wanted. The Sheraton beach area is popular therefore a bit more crowded. The Hyatt beach area is not that nice and on the other side of Kaanapali so it was a little more isolated. However, you could get from the Hyatt to the Sheraton with a quick 15-20 minute walk. Whaler's Village is closer to the Sheraton. It has some restaurants and shops.
We personally wished we stayed in the Wailea area. It generally seemed like a nicer area and had nicer hotels. We thought we would stay in Kaanapali for the proximity to Lahaina and the nightlife. We did go to Lahaina at least three nights and two of the nights we didn't have to drive (we took taxis or shuttles) which let us drink. However, we did so much during the day that we couldn't stay up that late. Therefore, I would have chosen the nicer hotels if I knew that ahead of time. That being said Kaanapali is a very nice area. The Hyatt seemed to be a bigger hotel with bigger grounds and pool than the Sheraton but the Sheraton had a better beach and location.
We didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants. We ate lunch at Leiani's (spelling?) in Whaler's Village for lunch twice. That was good. Otherwise, we ate in Lahaina and/or Wailea.
Sorry if I just confused you even more.

Question for Karen
o.k., now I'm very confused! You said that the Sheraton has a better beach and location...did you mean on Maui or Kauai?

Question for Karen
Sorry for the confusion. I was referencing the hotels on Maui. I did not see the Sheraton on Kauai.

Our package.....
We just recently booked our honeymoon!! We're staying in Oahu for 2 nights (city view), Kaui for 5 nights (deluxe ocean view), and Maui for 6 (ocean view), all at the Sheraton. The Sheraton doesn' t have an island hopper deal, it just turned out that we chose all Sheratons. Our package includes roundtrip airfare leaving from JFK and returning in LGA, interisland transportaion, mid -size rental car on Kuai, and convertible in Maui. We also get food vouchers for about $225 on Maui and Kaui. The total package is $6400. The Sheraton does have a resort fee, as does the Hyatt. And in the end, the resort tax is around 11% of your stay, so you might want to keep that in mind.
We booked through Liberty Travel.
I hope this helps.

We're staying at the Grand Wailea
It is on Wailea Beach right next to the Four Seasons. I know it is an expensive hotel but we are using our skymiles to fly First Class round trip for free for both of us (yeah!!!) so we could really splurge on the hotel. We will stay for 10 nights and we are paying $4,240 for a garden room (hoping to get a comped upgrade). The price also includes jeep rental the entire time and breakfast every morning. Also all the taxes are already included. I know airfare is expensive too though. It sounds like you got a really good deal. I just found this website http://www.hawaiiactivityworld.com/ which shows you a lot of stuff that you can do there. Have fun!

Grand Wailea is a great hotel!
We looked at the Grand Wailea while we were there and it looked really great. They have this beautiful chapel there for weddings. I also heard great things about the Hummu.. restaurant. Definitely try Nick's Fishmarket restaurant in the Kea Lani (the other side of the Four Seasons). We drove an hour twice to go to this restaurant. They have great service and food.

Karen thank you so much!
We did the Old Lahaina Laua. It was a lot of fun. You should book it before you leave because it fills up quick. We didn't do the Molokini trip. We were going to but the boat we wanted was booked up. We did snorkeling and scuba on the beaches. The water was great. We saw tons of turtles and fish. There was also tons of whales everywhere. It was great. You will definitely have a great time. You should get the Maui Reveal and Ultimate Kauia guidebooks. They were great.
