We paid about $3K for air (three flights - NYC to Phuket, Phuket to Bangkok, and then Bangkok to NYC) and a bit over $5K for 10 days of hotels. This does not include food and shopping (although breakfast was free every day at both hotels)!

ETA - now that I have written it all down, it seems amazing that we spent just as much on the HM as we did on the RH/catering/open bar/cake!

Oops sorry, I should have said that! Excellence Playa Mujeres. We have a room with a rooftop terrace and pool and the resort is all-inclusive.

I am in the 4000+ category.

We are spending a ton for Dubai and Seychelles for 12 days, 11 nights but this is probably our one chance to do it so we decided to just splurge.

$7,200 - Hawaii - for 24 days!!! Oahu, Kauai & Maui. This price includes inter-island airfare, hotels and car rentals.

The flights to and from Hawaii were free (well $600 for 2 first class tickets) with my frequent flier miles!! Whoopee!!!

We're around $12k, Bora Bora for 7 days, Australia for 10- Cairns and Sydney...includes excursions.

The cruise with air was 3k and once we add excursions and drinks on the cruise.. it will probably be another 1k ... so maybe 4k total

Depends on where in Hawaii. I find Oahu to be the least expensive, then Maui, then the Big Island, then Kauai. Oahu's prices are very similar to NYC's. Also, there's lots of competition with bars and restaurants, etc.

Maui isn't that bad either. We found the food and drinks to be super expensive on Kauai. However, we learned to hit the local Costco or ABC store for drinks and snacks and bring them down to the pool and keep them in our room. Kept things waaaay under control.

Also, keep in mind that it's like everywhere else, you can eat a $300 meal or a $50 meal.

Excursions are a different story. Some were super $$$ and some weren't so bad. We found that just about everything we wanted to do was a minimum of $100 per person.

My travel agent is Chloe Cipplione. We are staying in an overwater bungalow on Bora Bora in Le Maitai hotel... and Moorea is a garden private pool bungalow in Pearl Resort and Spa. Excursions are not included. Breakfast is included. I know some of the days were like a stay 5 pay for 3 type of thing. She found me the best deals she could get. I was determined to go there and find the best price so I researched researched researched until I found one we could do. The Le Maitai hotel isn't a 5 star but it's a nice hotel and has good reviews.
