I started out trying to keep everything scaled down, but it's soo much fun and everytime I turn around there is something else that 'i just have to have' for the wedding that it gets sorta expensive. The way I look at it...You only do it once!!

I've got a budget of 15K (without HM) and so far I'm on track with that. We plan on only about 100 guests. I think no matter what your budget is...yo u can have everything you want. You cut back on things not as important and you spludge on some things.

I'm hoping to stay less than 20. If I or my parents had the money to spend 30K+ on a wedding, I'd say screw the wedding, I'll take the money for a house!

Thanks.. I had to double check my budget.. I try to check it every so often.
According to what I have booked and estimates of unbooked items as well as deposits and payments.. I am still close to budget.
Our budget was 18,000.
After a lot of squeezing and using other sources of payments (credit or discounts) I am around 17,500. I say *I* because Im paying for my wedding. That's coming out of my own pocket.
Gifts, credits and discounts come out to about 1,900 that I don't have to allot from my paychecks.
So all together wedding expenses are about 19,500
ETA: Doesnt include HM

Over 31K for me as well! Probably, $40-$45 by the time all is said and done.

$24K not including rings and honeymoom!!! And we are paying ourselves.
ETS: I am doing this for 200 people for $24K so I think I am doing a good job budgeting!

In the end I have estimated it to be in the area of 45 to 50K. It was more than I was expecting to spend, but that's always the way !!

I was just reading over all of the prices.. I made this poll for my cousin who is anticipating a Xmas engagement...
We had a 10K budget... VERY tight, but including EVERYTHING it came out to about $12,500 we had 125 guests... I think it IS possible to find everything you want and more.. i think it has to do with how much research a new bride does as well.
WOW... over 31K.... I made another poll... To give my cousin and other new brides a more 'realistic?' price range.

Our HM & RD are gifts from others, so I didn't include those costs, nor did I include the BM dresses or the GM tuxes, becuase we are not paying for them either, but we are at $22,700 for 160 guests and a 6 hour reception.
We originally budgeted for $18,000, but I forgot things like the accessories (signing board, wishing bowl, place card candles, table nimber/name signs...etc) Man the little things add up!

Yeah Long Island weddings are really really expensive.. We paid WAY more then 31.

I'm trying to keep the wedding to $16,000, 120 people, kosher. Honeymoon to London is $1210, air and hotel, probably $1000 more spending money. I have 7 people paying for the wedding too - me, Mom, Dad, Grandma, FI, his Mom and Dad! Doing pretty well I think!
