I feel like the rehearsal dinner will cost almost as much as the actual wedding per person.
Do you have to serve alcohol during your RD?

I don't think you HAVE to serve liqor but then you ahve to make it clear that each person is responsible for drinks-you do not want a ta at the end of the night

$30 p/p, no alcohol because we had a traditional Chinese wedding banquet at a Chinese restaurant in Flushing. They didn't have alcohol.

ours was 30pp, but with tax and tip about 36pp
We had a tab for the alcohol...thinking how much would people really drink???
we could have added 10pp and had open bar-but we didnt think people would drink so much...
we were wrong- $800.00 bar bill best man paid this and IN laws paid the food bill
ETA-it was kind of $$$, but we had a great time and the food was superb

How about inquiring about small restaurants. It doesn't have to be a full blown out dinner either.
What we're planning on doing is going to a local mexican restaurant and bringing our own bottles of wine. We will also be supplying our own cake as the best man is a pastry chef.
We would have done the same at a local Thai restaurant as well, but have opted for the mexican one instead.
Just think of alternate options. It will still be fun.

We paid $30 per person, included appetizers, salad, and dinner, wine, beer and soda in a private room.
I can't forget the dessert! that was included also.

Ours is going to be $50 a person and that includes appetizers (everyone gets to pick what they want off the menu), salad, dinner (we do not have selected choices, everyone can pick whatever they want off of the menu), and dessert (again everyone can pick whatever they want off of the menu, plus our cake that everyone will get a piece of). It also includes open bar (beer, wine, and top shelf liquor).

I think we paid $36 or $38 per person. Appetizers, salad, entree, cake and beer/wine/soda. Although, now that I think about it, people were giving me mixed drinks. Not sure if that was extra.

We are just doing a BBQ on july4th..(day before our wedding) because number 1 everyone usually expects BBQ food on that day and number 2 the OOT guest list is out of control....and kind of feel obligated to feed everyone who came in early and booked a hotel so at about 60-80 people there is no way we could do and pp plate!

i honestly dont know. IL's paid for it. but last year when DH's cousin got married they just had a big bbq in his parents backyard for their RD. it was such a relaxed and fun atmosphere. i would have done that too except that IL's dont have a big yard. definitely a great time and they saved so much money!

$25 a person with unlimited soda. FILs are paying the drink tab. I think it was another $18 for open bar.
