We were very lucky.
We used:
Frequent flier miles for the airfare. (Saved approximately $1800)
Hotel points for Maui hotel (Saved approximately $1500) and they upgraded us to a 1 bedroom ocean front suite!!
Purchased rental cars through Hotwire.com (Saved approximately $600)
Purchased Honolulu hotel on Priceline.com (Saved approximately $800)
Overall, the 17 night Hawaii honeymoon was not very expensive!!!
