So, I have a few ideas for a little gift basket for my BMs. I have to preface this by saying that when I've been a BM in the past, I thought it was inconsiderate when the 'gift' that was given was a manicure in a specific color chosen for the wedding and a piece of jewelry that was also specifically for the wedding. I always felt that this wasn't a thoughtful gift to thank me for my participation but was instead just telling me what to wear on the big day (which is fine to do! But that's just not a 'gift' to thank someone for all their effort and expenses).
I will be including pearl earrings that I want my girls to wear the day of, lacy tanks thats say 'Bridesmaid', and I will be paying for the manicures.
I'm also looking at monogrammed cosmetic cases that run around $20 a piece, and I want to buy each girl a Starbucks Cold Cup (around $9) a piece, and fill them with goodies (lip gloss, Starbucks gift card, funky nail polish, and a note thanking them both for participating and for ther friendship in general.
I have five bridesmaids and two juniors (they'd only be getting the tanks, I'd work out something else for them for their gifts). All totaled, it'll be well over $400. Is that too much to spend? I don't want to be frivolous either. What are you guys roughly spending?

I spent $350 total for all 6 of my BMs. I had jewlery custom made for them by a friend. I really didnt have the money to spend more then that...

We prob spent close to $1,000 on BM and GM gifts... the groomsmen each got coach money clips and burberry ties... and the girl got a bunch of stuff, prob like $100 each worth of goodies

For my bridal party of 5 adults, 1 jr bridesmaid and 1 flower girl I gave them monogramed tervis cups (in my wedding colors), a picture frame (ie: friends, sisters or something that fit their personality), American Express gift card, personalized thank you card and paid for their hair.
I let them all wear what ever jewelry they wanted as long as it was silver. They all have different tastes and some don't even wear earrings. I spent over $1000 and they all went above and beyond through my entire wedding planning process.
As for what to spend, it depends on what you can afford. There is no set amount to spend.

For the 'asking them' gifts I've only spent about $30 a girl on a Name Hanger and Personalized Tumblers I made along with Nail Polish and Nail file. For the Thank You gift I hope to spend about 100 each. So that's about $500 total. Plus the flower girls. Eeek I never added it all up before lol wow I better keep looking for sales! hahahah

i got them cosmetic cases and filled them with their favorite makeup, then got them pearl bracelets and earrings for the wedding day... in total I spent about 400 and change

I'll probably be spending about $100 per bridesmaid. I will be paying for them to have their makeup done, giving them DOJ and a shawl to wear for the wedding in case it's cold out, and my mom is generously sewing clutch purses and quilted tote bags for each girl.

In addition to paying for either their hair or makeup and buying the DOJ, I'm hoping to spend about $100pp for the BM's and about $150-$200 on the MOH. We'll probably spend about $150pp the GM and $200 on the BM. Luckily, we only have 6 people in the BP total.

The girls got personalized glass picture frames with our date and their names on it, day of jewelry, compact mirrors, some got glittered flasks and some got jewelry boxes from Things Remembered that I love so much. The maid of honor got a few extras like a gift card and a clutch. Just the picture frames cost me a bundle but they came out so beautiful. It's about $100 per person besides the MOH. 5 girls in total.
