How much extra cash (ha! like there is any!) should I have on me the day of the wedding -- aside from tips??

Aside from what you budget to tip, I would say have an extra $300 on you- just in case. If you don't use it then just bring it on the HM, but better to have it if you need it.

I didn't have any extra. I figured out the tips and had a range for some vendors depending on their day of service. My father held it so we could determine if we wanted to give the photographer $20 more than originally planned or only give the BM the amount we originally decided on b/c he did nothing above and beyond, etc. Other than the tip variables, we didn't need any cash.
ETA: The money I owed the morning of the wedding for hair, make up, etc was already figured out and in envelopes so I wasn't considering that 'extra.'

I need money for the make up lady ( hair will be paid bycheck)
Cash for the limo balance
cash for the hall balance (I pay for 4 people day of , in case they don' t show)
Tips (inlcuding tips for driver that takes us to hotel)
