How much contact have you had with your hall...

Upon initial signing of your contract with RH how much contact have you had with them? My hall is Crescent but after signing contract we have not heard anything else whihc was about two months ago. What and when is the next step typically?

Congrats on getting married CBC!! I had my wedding there , you will not be disappointed!
Once you sign the contract you won't have much contact with the hall until you either have to make a payment or about 4 months before your wedding to finalize your menu and stuff. FM if you have any questions!

It's typical that they only contact you when its time for a payment to be made but when the date gets closer they would start calling typically or they would expect you to call them and set things up. I cant wait till i get stressed lol does that sound weird?

Usually you start having contact with them when you make your payments.

We get a bill in the mail from them every time a payment is due and they also send us notices of their showcases.

I live so close that I drop by my hall every time I have a question, of course I call first!! Right before I booked I went twice, and went twice or three times right after I booked.

I don't plan on having any contact with them until it's time for a payment or it's time to start the final preparations which isn't for some time.

My BM (Susan) is wonderful, I understand that she's with clients sometimes, and as long as I'm patient she comes down and spends as much time as I need. The service at my RH has been nothing but top-notch so far.

Reception Halls will rarely contact you after your book unless it's time to pay a bill. They should, however, inform you when there's a wedding showcase there, and they should make it easy for you to ask questions at any point in time.

None at all except an email that said the tax wasn't figured in, the computer wasn't computing it at the time. Go figure. . . ohh well.

Thanks guys that was really helpful! I guess I have been early some horror stories from friends about contracts getting messed up and things like that so just wanted to make sure everything seem right. Ha ha stressin over everything lol

Since I signed a contract 1.5 years ago I porb have talked to them three times. Also, I am getting married in 32 days. They told me to call them if I need anything and the rest of the $ is due two days before. Also, a month before to set up what food we want but that I have to call and make an appointment for. Other wise they have no reason to contact me.

I agree.....they haven't contacted me at all except to invite me to a showcase. I have contacted them and they have been very receptive.

I go there every month to drop off a check, and I usually save alll of my questions for that time, but if I have questions before then, I simply call.

Your wedding isnt until 2009 so you wont have contact for awhile-unless you choose to call them.

I had no contact with my hall until about 3 months prior (with the exception of my phone calls to ask about their rules on certain things) which at that point we scheduled our menu selection, etc.

I havent had much, i think a few times i called for questions and i went to go change some things on my contract...other then that not much because i dont make another payment until May 2009, which is 2 months before the wedding.

i've really had no contact, cause there's been no reason to.. yet.....

i booked in the early spring and have contacted them maybe once or twice. i know my mom called once to find out how she should make a payment. and i contact them before memorial day weekend to see if i could stop by on the 1 year mark to my wedding (to see how it looked there in the spring). they haven't contacted me once.

I haven't heard from them, but my caterer manager has been very responsive to any emails I have had. She said she will contact me around 3 mos prior to start reviewing set-ups and menus.

Congrats on picking a hall, that is stressful!
I hope you have a good rapport with your banquet manager, because that is who you will be corresponding with.

I would not expect the hall to contact you, you should contact them if you need info.

The only time your BM will contact you is when it is time for the menu choices, linenes and head count etc. about 2-8 weeks before your reception.
