Lawyer just told me about $25,000 - is that accurate?

A lot of it depends on the purchase price of the house, but that number seems awfully high. Our GFE is for somewhere between $13k-$14k --we are not paying attorneys fees though, b/c someone is doing it as a favor for me.

I believe it is based on the cost of your house, a percentage.
Our GFE was for $11k, they came out to be $9k but some of the fees were waived by the bank.

Ours was about 16k. It is better to anticipate high that way if they do come down abit you will be surprised!
ETA: I think alot of it has to do with your taxes. I know my parents paid around 30k and the had a very small mortgage, but their taxes are 20K

Our GFE is for 11,500 and I expect that's accurate.
I have other fees involved in my sale though. Warning to anyone selling a co-op - check what you have to pay as a seller - the costs are horrendous!!!
I don't have to pay legal fees because I'm in a plan in work.
