how much money did you put down when you bought your home? What kind of first-time home buyer programs did you take advantage of?
we are just starting to think about buying (in a Maryland suburb of DC), any input would be GREAT!

We put down around $25K but that's LI prices... I don't know what that means in MD. We didn't use any first time home buyer programs though because none of them seemed to be working to our advantage.

Thanks...just as an FYI, the MD housing market (montgomery county, right outside of DC) is just as high as LI

$50,000 on our condo, made over the max. income to be eligible for the low rate 1st time homebuyer program here in NY.

We didn't really apply for any first-time homeowner stuff. We bought in Lindenhurst village last year and put down 20% -- $70k.
