How much did you put in escrow?

I was just looking over my closing cost estimates and my bank said I needed to put 14 months of taxes in escrow, same with insurance. I thought 14 months of tax and insurance payments in escrow was high, but she said it was standard.

Since we are putting 20% down, we can pay a fee to not have an escrow account, so maybe we'll do that instead.

Did you put 14 months of payments in escrow at closing?
