How much did you spend on hair/makeup & who did you use?
I am in the process of looking for someone to do hair/makeup for me & my bridal party. I already have a trial set up with Jillian from Georgous Faces for makeup but I am getting ridiculously high quotes for hair for my bridal party. One hairstylist at the salon I go to quoted me $100 for each girl- regarldess of whether it is a blow-out or up-do. Honestly, I think that is a bit high. Does anyone have any recommendations for a more reasonably priced hair person who will come to the hotel at 6 AM?

For makeup I am using Jacqueline Nicole.
$100 for bride (no airbrushing, I think if you airbrush it is $25 more)
$55 for each additional person
in my opinion, I thought that was reasonable and I loved my my trial with her.
I haven't research hair yet. But if you would like I will keep you informed.

I used Christine from a Perfect Look and she is awesome....she charged me, I think it was $40 for the trial and $100 for the wedding. And I believe bridal party prices were less than that. She is a vendor on here.

thanks guys- I actually don't need help with makeup right now- I have a trail set up with Jillian for makeup but my real concern is HAIR. Any suggestions???

i just spoke with jillian today actually and set my trial up with her. she has girls to do the hair too....just ask her!

I am using Katherine from Frasada Salon & Spa She does great makeup and for the Bride it is $75 and the the BP is is $40
For hair i am using Guiselle from Frasada as well- Bride $100 (updo with veil attachment) and the BP $28 (blow out) and up to $75 for updo's
The only thing is we are going to the salon to keep costs down. I do believe they travel but am not sure about the prices.

I used Tecnicolors in RVC. $65 for me, $50 for the girls updos, $40 makeup for anyone

I am more picky about make-up than hair. From what I've read on here, it seems like Denise Venti is the most popular hairperson used. When I e-mailed about trial though, she said she wasn't booking weddings past August as of now because she will be getting married. Maybe she will later though. I just saw you're getting married in July, so that won't affect you.
Please post how your trial goes with Jillian. I've got a trial coming up with her in a little less than a week also. I'm so afraid after I go on a make-up trial, I'm going to be disappointed because I expect that I'm going to look so perfect or something.

I have a trial with jillian tonight..both hair and makeup..she has hair people..I will let everyone know the outcome..cross your fingers for me ..I want my hair half up/half down..

I can't wait to hear how it goes. I'm so glad I was able to get a trial on a weekend day since the bride she will be doing make-up for is going to have a wedding later in the day. It's important to me to see how it wears during the day and how long it lasts.

another thing to ask about is trial. Do you have to pay for that, or is it included in the price if you book?

you usually have to pay for the trial, but sometimes when you book they take the trial price that you pay off of the price for the wedding day...

I had my Hair/Makeup done at Nubest & Co. in Manhasset - I have been getting my hair cut and highlighted there for the past 13 years so I knew this is where I was going from the start.
I paraded myself, 6 bridesmaids and my mom in there for hair and makeup - they were fantastic! My bridesmaids looks beautiful - Linda and Charles did the makeup and Mira did mine and 4 of my bridesmaids hair - they were gorgeous and we were all done on time as promised!
Hair for $70 and makeup for $40, the prices and professionalism cannot be beat - my makeup stayed on all day and only needed to reapply lipstick and gloss! Good luck!
