what is a normal/realistic price to pay for flowers??
i have an appt at flower michele this week and have no idea what kind of numbers they are going to throw out at me...

at fm i am spending $1,150 with tax and everything. 10 centerpieces my bq 2 bm bq fg 6 bouts cake flowers and extra petals and flowers

im paying about $1,400 for 6 high cps 6 low cps 7 bo'ks 1 bout FG rose petals rose petals for the guest tables, sweetheart table, cake table, aisle etc.

it really depends on what you are getting....i am doing
20 high cps (with 7 dozen roses in each) 2 bo'ks 4 bout 4 corsages rose petals for the guest tables, 3 arragments for 'our table' and flowers for my moms house
and thats 3000

It varies wildly in price from place to place and also depending on which flowers you pick out. Each florists 'vision' of your arrangements are going to be different and with that they may differ in size, amt of flowers, type of flower etc.. Some use more greens to fill in the arrangement while others try not to use any extras. I got quotes from 3 places, all were different, my highest was 3500 and the lowest was 2800 (picks of my sample centerpiece is in my album).
The place where i got the highest quote i brought with me the write up of what the lowest quoted place was giving me (minus pricing) so i would get a price based on the same flowers, amts etc.. and they STILL changed the ideas based on what they thought looked good and with that came a 700 dollar difference..
So i guess what im babbling is you have to just go see different florists and decide what you want in terms of flowers and see what they quote you.

How many centerpieces/bouquets do you need? and what kind of flowers are you looking for? I was told I have very expensive taste, and i dont think my price was that bad considering.

Assuming that we're not needing more CP's we're spending about $2,000.
1 chuppa - minimal flowers - (hey it's only a 30 minute ceremony..lol) 1 Bride bok 1 MoH 1 BM 1 Groom 2 GM 1 BM 1 FG petals for a basket I have already (saves you money if you provide your own basket most of time) 12 CP's (low) Cake flowers Escort table flowers extra flowers for decorating serving trays swagging (tulle) for aisles (8 aisles on each side) 3 corsages (1 MOG, 1 aunt, 1 female cousin) 2 more boutiniers (1 FOG, 1 male cousin)
I think I might have left something out but I think that's about it. Only thing extra I have to pay for is if I need extra CP's.
Also saved me $$ since Russo's has an in house florist that takes care of the cocktail hour areas.
Btw- the flowers we're using are cream, lavender, and pink roses with lavender hydrangeas and stephanotis on my bok and the grooms bout. Corsages/Bouts are cream roses so they stay neutral to whatever the person is wearing.

well we want a lot for our ceremony:
decorated arch probably with all red roses, and then maybe 4 rose pieces on the 4 columns - but i want ALOT of flowers in them - and rose petals and candles along the aisle....
for the reception room i want something with pine in the middle and maybe a few candles with cranberries - for 18 tables.....
and then 3 BM's bok's my bok, and the toss away bok.....
and maybe some red roses for the cake flowers - like on the cake....

5k sounds realistic to me. But like i said shop around, roses are the cheapest flower and if your going with low centerpieces (those pics are beautiful BTW) then that will save you money right there. Most of the time anything with candles you can probably find cheaper on your own and give to your florist to set up.

plus we're getting complimentary: toss bok extra groom's bout (for after the cermemony because it will get squished during the receiving line) tray flowers for waiter's trays ladies room arrangement

everyone got great deals but i didnt see anyone list whatr flowers they are using in their CPS......the prices would vary on the flower.
my boks were part of my package for wedding world. but i am getting 16 med size CPs with Calls for $900. the vases are 12 inches and with the calls they will prob be about 20 inches tall
I am very happy i got crazy quotes from people for callas!

Which florest are you using? this sounds good--I have only met with one florest so far. I don't know why, but this is the hardest thing for me to book--it seems so complicated!
