What is the lowest amount I could realistically spend and still have pretty centerpieces? Is it cheaper or more expensive to incorporate candles. I was thinking of making my own centerpieces, but knowing my tastes, its going to be just as expensive and a lot more work. Any suggestions??

Re: How much do floral centerpieces cost?
$45, I got that quote at a low small florist in smithtown, but the sample looked extremely cheezy, it had like carnations and 4 roses.

Have you thought about using potted plants? That way, you can still have a florist do the work, but you can save big $$$. You mihght even be able to go to a nursery...
I had 2 fun ideas that went out the window when I booked my reception place.
1) I was going to use 10-15 different shape and sized green and blue glass bottles, with a few wite flowers in some, and candles in others. Big impact, small flower costs$$
2) Potted plants (I think begonias?), in beach pails, stacked in a pyramid, so you don't see the pots, it just looks like a gig bush of greenery and flowers.
Good luck, remember to think outside the box!!

Wow, that actually seems like a lot of money. I wonder if I can make something myself for around $30 a table with candles and rose petals. I really don't want to have it look cheesy, but we are on a major budget!

Re: How much do floral centerpieces cost?
The lowest I saw was $40. I decided to go the DIY route, here's a pic of what I'm doing. HTH!!
I actually was able to get low centerpieces made up of 24 roses with little votive candles around it for $65 per CP. It depends where you go.
ETA: if you go the candle route, you save so much money! We were considering doing candle centerpieces (DIY) and it would have cost about $15 per table!

I have the same question, with DIY CP, who sets it up?
