How much do I buy??

I'm using these favor tins for the wedding and I want to buy jelly belly's in my colors but I don't know how much to buy. I'm assuming about 150 tins need to be filled..Here's the size of the tins. Measures 2.25'W x 2.25'L x 1'H.

edit: They sell the candy in 1, 5, or 10lb boxes.

Thanks!!

I used Jelly Belly Jellybeans too. Here's what I did:

Went to a candy shop with a tin - they weighed the tin without any candy in it and then filled it with beans. They weighed it full and calculated the difference and then multiplied the weight by the amount of tins.

Any shop should be able to do this for you! I had a little extra for good measure but didn't have a lot of waste (or rather didn't have too many jellybeans to eat).

I think you'll actually need more than 10 lbs. That tin probably holds a couple of ounces.

Thanks so much this is exactly what I am going to do. where did u buy the candy from. There's a really reasonably website but I also found this bulk candy store in NYC...its more but at least I can just go and pick it up.

I purchaed from a small shop in Ronkonkoma, but I only purchased appx. 7 lbs so wholesale didn't really apply. You don't have to purchase where you have the measurements done, especially if you find it cheaper to buy elsewhere or online in bulk.

ETA: remember, of you do more than one colorflavor, you'll need fewer lbs per color/flavor.
