FINALLY! I made an appointment to get my hair died 1 color and cut!
The only problem is, I've never been to a salon before.
I am going to Cactus on Saturday.
Who do I tip, and How much do I tip?
Do you have any idea how much this whole thing is going to cost me?

You're supposed to tip everyone who is involved with your hair when you get it done - usually the stylist and the helper/washer person. I would give 20% of the total for the main person and then $3-4 for the helper.
It can get out of hand, and I've been known to not tip the helper....sometimes they don't do enough to justify the $$.

what i never know how to handle is do you give it personally and when do you give it?
To the washer as soon as your hair is washed or before you leave?

after I pay, I'll walk back and give the tip to my hair dresser then give one to the shampoo girl

I usually give like $2 to teh washer (they havea can on the sink) and then I give 5 or 10 to my hairdresser. I know it sounds cheap but my haircut only costs like $17
