How much do we give to the church for our wedding?
I have no idea what to give the church. I know that we give a donation but how much? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

usually the church pretty much tells you what to give them-- they call it the 'offering' or 'donation' but it's usually mandatory.
ours is like 650-700 bucks

My church told me how much the donation was. A month before the wedding they sent me a bill.

Our Church calls it a fee lol and it is $675.00 Holy moly!

My church was so nice... they said it was a donation of $400.00 but they would not hold us to it. If we couldn't afford it, we didn't have to DONATE. PS- Of course we're paying. After all the money spent on a wedding... why would you say no to the church?!?!

ours is called a 'donation' even thought they told us how much im pretty sure it was $400 but no more than $500

Our church donation is $475. I don't mind paying it because I know it's going for a good cause (the upkeep of the parish).

Our total for the church is $600 or $700 I believe.
$300 for the use of the church $100 for the clergy (priest) $100 for the organist $100 for the soloist $100 for ? I forget
This seems to be about the average of what other LIW ladies have posted... although some have paid over $1000!!! and some like $300 total. So it depends. I'd call your church and ask what the average donation has been.

$700 for the church as an offering 150 for the singer 150 for the organist
Do people usually pay the full amount...or if it's a donation and you pay the day of are they really going to stop the wedding if you dont pay it?

Some churches do not tell you what to give if you belong. It's a donation soley up to you and what you can afford. Our church told me it is up to our and we can donate whatever we could. Our Pastor even said a very low figure. We will be giving what we feel fit. Some churches if you don't belong will charge a certain fee for different things in the church. Church usage, pastor or preist, sexton, etc. Just ask them how they handle this at their Church. HTH
