Well, I don't exactly remember where I read this, but according to the article I read, In 1990, the average wedding cost on the east coast was $10, 500.
In 1995, the average wedding cost on the east coast was $14,500

In 2000, the average wedding was about $18,000

So I guess it averages out to about $1000 a year more or less

That's inflation for you..

My cousin got married 10 years ago. Here were some of her prices. But, keep in mind that at that time, her wedding was still the MOST EXTRAVAGANT wedding any of us in my family had ever been to:

Her dress (custom made) $2800

Dinner on a Saturday night, with full bar and ALL cocktail hour upgrades, after tax and tip: $86 per person (that place now charges well over $100 per person)

BM dress (also custom made) $200 each

Band (her mom got the band to come down $1,000 on the price) in the $3,000 range. But, my cousin always complains that they barely sang- they kept making guests sing a song whenever they wanted the newleyweds to kiss
