DH's second cousins have their Holy Communion today. I don't think I've ever been to one since I've been an adult. What's the typical amount to give? And do most people go to the church or should we just plan on going to the reception?
i would go to the church its a nice thing. i would give them 50 dollars or maybe a nice pair of earrings or bracelet
if you want you can go to the church but usually, at least in my family, only immediate family goes (including grandparents, godparents, etc.). i usually give $50.

I think $50 in cash or a maybe a $100 bond is normal
