I want to start booking my vendors. How much do you generally have to put down when you booked? How much should I have? Thanks!

Each vendor was different....I guess depending on what package you get, but we paid anywhere from $350 to $700 for our down payments.

I'd say that's about average ..... most of them have payment schedules and they tell you what is due and when its due. I think they tended to break the whole cost down into a few payments (3 or 4).
We booked some things more than a year in advance, so while they typically do 3 payments, they were willing to do 4 payments instead because it was far in advance.

Our DJ wanted $250 and the rest the day of. Our officiant wanted $150 and the rest the day of. Our photographer wanted about $425 the day we booked and then there were three other payments scheduled for the year that were a lot more than that. I still have to book my limos and flowers.

my DJ only needed $200, but my photographer required $1400!!!
It really varies. If it's a big ticket booking, expect more $$ for the deposit...

i put down whatever their minimum was..and then by our 1st payment after deposit.. we paid them off... don't ask why didn't pay them in full to begin with.....

They ranged between $2500[RH] to the least amount of a vendor was $200

Some require a certain % amount like your hall and Photo/Video and some will just ask you how much you want to put down for a deposit. Just remember when you are booking early, I would leave as little as possible because down the line, you might change your mind and regret giving more.
As it gets closer, pay as much as you can.

each vendor and company is soo different ~ we ranged from $50.00 to $350.00...

I've shelled out $150 to $1,000 on vendors (not including RH).
The higher ones hurt, but then you owe less before the big day, which is nice.

they can all be different. like our rh needed $1000, same for photog but the video just took $300 and my fave one was my florist just $50!!!

Any where from 4 to 6 hundred. It also depends some places want 25% down. Or 100 to hold the date b4 you sign a contract.
