How much do you tip the shampoo girl?

I go to get my hair blown out almost every other week. How much should I be giving her each time?

I give $3. Just wondering if that was enough.

hmm, my hair is tough to blow out, and I always get an extra hair mask conditioner, so I tip $5 - 10, but I have a bad habit of over-tipping too many years of working for tips affected me, I guess....

I tip $4-$6 depending on if it's a regular shampoo or a conditioning treatment or a dye, etc ...

I would normally tip $2-3, but I usually tip $5, because I knew the girl in High School that washes my hair and I don't want to seem cheap

$1-2 it's just a shampoo, people!

Maybe I'm just cheap!

Well at my salon, the shampoo girl does more than just shampoo... they are usually considered the 'assistant' to the stylist and are qualified to do more than shampoo.. so they shampoo, rinse out the color, do the conditioning treatment, usually run around and ask if I want anything.. sometimes they even finish up the color if my stylist is overbooked.

So given these circumstances, I never tip them less than $5, but sometimes closer to $10 depending on how much they have done that particular day.

Between the actual prices and tipping, I spend a BUNDLE at the salon
