I have an appointment on Friday with an estate lawyer and I have no idea how much lawyers charge. He's a sole practioner, if that makes a difference. Thanks for any info!

What exactly is he doing for you? Drafting wills? One shot deals usually cost anywhere from $1k-$2k... for example... hiring a lawyer for a house closing will usually run about $1.5... helping draft wills should be in the same price range

Simple wills are typically $300-$500 on LI.
