How much does a videographer cost? (Reasonalbly priced!!!)

We can get one with our photographer package, but I have no idea whether it's a good price or not? How much is yours and what do you get? PS I want nice, tasteful, a little photojournalistic style (videojournalistic?)... Not cheeseball slow motion and sliding effects (if that makes sense), but reasonable! I would check out Pennylane, but I'm afraid I'll love it too much and it will cost too much, then I'll be sad! TIA ladies!!!

we went through our phptographer and i *think* it was like $1795 but after seeing the post with Pennylane..i have since contacted them to discuss booking them instead

We're going through our photographer and it's $1995.

I totally hear you on Pennylane-- that is what I thought too-- but here is the kicker:

They only require that you pay 2/3 before the wedding! That is the number one reason that we were able to do it! (we had also lost a deposit from another videographer that we canceled with)

If you keep that in mind, then Pennylane is about the same price as your average videographer, you pay that before and then after the wedding when money isn't tight anymore you give yourself a wedding gift of pennylane and pay the last 1/3!

Of course only you know what you can afford-- but I can tell you that a few months before we booked Pennylane DH said NO WAY that they were totally over budget. I convinced him eventually with meeting Adam and seeing his work and the HUGE deal that that last 1/3 wasn't due until after the wedding--- and DH tells everyone that he would have paid double for it!

You won't regret it!!

Look at what I just posted about the 2/3 before the wedding! It makes it so much more within reach!

Tell Adam that you saw Amy & Dek's wedding!!

We're going in to see him next week- I can't wait to ask if he's heard from you!

just a heads up but every photo/video place that i looked into said that you pay 2/3rds before & the remainder when you pick up pictures & video.

if you where not given this option you should try to insist on it. it makes a lot of sense, you shouldn't be expected to pay it in full before they finish their job.

also this worked out well for 2 of my friends.
it took one of their photographers a year to even get them their pictures!! and my other friend, it took her videographer two years to finished her video!!

as for my cost i am paying $3,500 for photo & video. we will receive 5 edited dvds, cd with 1,000 pictures, our album & 2 parents albums. they will be with me from 11am until the last person leaves the reception.
