how much does it cost pp to have a kosher wedding??please help me!!

i may have to change the location of my wedding- north ritz-bc my fh and i are having a difficult time finding a rabbi to marry us bc we are not haveing a kosher wedding. we are having a kosher style bc it is significantly cheaper than to have it catered kosher. but with all of the issues that FH's family and now the rabbi are bringing up, i am think ing about just having a kosher wedding.

now, i have already paid $2000 to the NRC. would i get that money back if i switched???

Not sure of the exact costs, but someone that I go to school with is having her wedding reception and ceremony at a Temple b/c it was just too much money to do it at a regular hall. She said something to me about halls charging a per head amount and then the kosher caterer charging another per head amount.

As for the NRC, I think that they will only give you your $$ back if they book your date.

okay i found info on how much it would cost at a jewish center, but is anyone having a kosher affair at a catering hall that is not a temple??

Why not hire a mishkiha to watch over the food to make sure it is kosher, do they have kosher available at the catering hall??? If they have a separate kitchen then you can probbaly do this. I hope this helps.

i'm not having mine there, but i looked at crest hollow cc. they do kosher on premises, the price they quoted me for kosher was around $75 pp. before taxes and gratuities. and they all charge the mashiagach (or however you spell it) fee, whether its a temple or a catering hall. Usually $300-$500. Also some of the temples were not that more expensive, though mine's a sunday afternoon.

Leonards of Great Neck has kosher menu upon request. Food is not as good as kosher style but very decent compared to other places. The price is very reasonable also.
