How much for flowers?

Ok i went to the florist last night and got quoted for $6600!! which includes:

-25 high CP's
-8 bok's for the bridall party and 1 for me
- 13 bouteneres
- 6 corsages
- small cocktail hour CP's
- two arrangments for the church plus 6 pew bows
- bathroom basket with flowers
- place card table flowers

umm yea i think thats it... is it me or is that really high??

That's a LOT of centerpieces and being that they're high as well, it might not be too bad. What kind of flowers are included in that price?

Hmmm... where did you go? I hear Burton's is really affordable!

that semms high to me..really high..

im paying 3400 and got 15 hcps with candles going down
8 b0-ks
my bo-k plus throwaway
bout
3 coursages
6 pew decorations
2 alter peices
flowers for our table
petals for every other table
flower girls basket plus petals and a refill
petals to throw
flowers for cake

i think thats it? i kow u have 1 more cps but that still seems a lot to me..what kind of flowers did u want in ur cps?maybe thats why?

well my florist told me roses r the cheapest flower(not quality ) cause they r filler flowers..so if u want just roses than i think its really too high

yea i thought it was reallly high.. but then i thought the fact that i need 25 CP's were the reason.. but its sooo much

the problem is my RH only allows us to pick between diana gould and westchester floral design.. and they both gave me around the same quote..

It does seem like a high price for all roses... they're not a typically exotic flower.

I'd shop around a little. I went to Burton's and their quote was $1k CHEAPER than my budget!!!

Are you set on ALL high centerpieces? Maybe you can do some high, some low, and some candle centerpieces you make yourself to help cut costs.

Oh that's horrible. The florist and RH must have some deal going one, the RH is getting a percentage of the fee.

I've had this confirmed by a few different vendors, the rate is sometimes as high as 25%.

I agree with the recommendation of mixing up your CP's- low/high/ candle.

yup thats exactly whats going on!

i def dont wanna do all low CP's b/c the ceilings are really high and it wouldn't look right.. but i guess i can look into high and low.. . i just dont know what i would do with the low... b/c the high ones im getting are the spiral ones with the candles on it..

im doing half low floral cp and half cylinders with flowers in them so they are totally different but saving so much money...i dont really think they have to match i mean its totally up to you but it will save you money

you do have alot of cp's so that is a big reason why

even with roses being on the least expensive side, most rose high cp's that i saw were about $125 each which for a high cp is around where it starts, anywhere from $100-125 each. ANd if you have 25 of them at $125 each that is $3125 JUST for the cp's. OR another thing i wanted to ask, i know roses are less BUT if you get those very big round bunched up roses then those are EXPENSIVE bc they have to use ALOT of roses and bc of that it will be alot. Normal rose cp's yes will be less but not those, are those the ones you are getting? then it will be even more than $3k just for cp's

I would just ask them what flowers you can substitute in your bok's and other flowers to help bring the price down. I also know that the florists you mentioned can be a bit pricier than others.

I had alot of flowers too so price can get up that high

Originally i also had 25 cp's but after final guestlist count it was 22 high cp's with calla's, orchids and curly willows

1 brides bok peonies
9bm boks-calla's
1 fg kissing ball-peonies
2 nosegays(mini bok's) for our moms-mango calla's
2 corsags for our grandmothers
1 bout for groom, 11bouts for gm, 1 bout for rb, 2 bouts for ourfathers and 1 bout for a reader
12 pew bows
2 altar arrangements
placecard table arrangement
rose petals and candles on the tables
flower arrangement for sweetheart table

so as far as in amount of stuff i did have alot like you so can add up since the cp's alone will cost alot. But i would talk to them and see what they suggest to bring it down to a budget you are comfortable with.

ETA: what about taking out your CH cp's? that might help bring the cost down and honestly most ppl dont put anyhing and nobody pays attention.

Why not do high and low CPS, take out the CPs for the CH and see where that totals to. You can always take out the flowers for the place card table also and use fake petals or put some votives there instead, that you do, not the florist.

How about if you use their required florist for centerpieces only and find a more reasonable florist for personal flowers/church decor?
