How much for Sqaure Envelope Postage?

I love the look of square invitations, but I'm trying to figure out exactly how much more it will cost to send them. Does anyone know the specifics?

Thanks!

Could cost the same, could cost more or less. It's not the shape that determines cost, it's weight of the letter. So if the invitations are square on lightweight paper, they will (most likely) cost less than rectangle invites on heavy cardstock, or vice versa.

I think the square shape does make a difference b/c on most sites they said 'extra postage is required' next to all the square invites... but we didn't care. We got the square invites anyway!!!

We paid 60 cents per envelope.

square automatically cost $0.60 (don't know if that is changing
and rectangual cost $0.33 or whatever the new rate is

but most end up weighing over the minimum weight so they all end up about $0.60

I was told that square is automatically $.43
My invitations are square and with the additional weight are costing me over $.87 each to mail....not include postage for the return envelopes.

The post office was at the bridal show and they were like it costs $.60 now for a wedding invitation to be mailed...but they are raising the postage soon so it depends on when u mailing it. Take a completed one to the post office and have it weighed.

mine were square and it was .60 due to the size not the weight, which was what the post office told me.

same here... just be advised, postage is going up in 2006... so it may be something like 62 cents.

it depends on size and weight..i would take a sample invite, weigh it and measure the size and get a quote from the post office. heck, i even think you can do this online
