Ladies, I'm about to begin dress shopping so I want to go in with a 'limit' or round about budget of how much to spend. I'm really trying to be reasonable however in my opinion this is the most important dress I'm ever going to buy. So I wanted to know what the range was on what everyone was paying or planning to pay for their dress?

I gave myself up to 2K, but fell in love with a $900 dress! I couldn't have been happier! Of course alterations, slip, undergarments were on top of that. I found my dress in Lotus Bridal, the same dress was $1250 at Bridal Reflections -- it was a Maggie Sottero.

mine also. except I didn't need any alterations at all. I just picked it up last week and it's absolutely PERFECT!!! I lucked out on that

Mine was $2450 plus alterations and bustle. I also got 10% off for ordering during a trunk show, so that saved me the tax plus a little.

I just paid $596 total for my dress at DB (thats with tax too).
My mom bought my veil & tiara for me & garment bag. So in total my outfit cost $896.
Shoes I am worry about later, same with jewelery. I got some great diamonique off QVC i can use anyway

I paid $2,000.00 for mine that included alterations , bustle a heart embroidered inside with my initials and wedding date. and steaming and delivery, and I got 20% off everything else I purchased there, and my bridal party got 15%. my salon was wonderful. but I do not live in N.Y I live in PA..

how much is that Garment bag?? I didn't get one, but I'm thinking it would be nice to have.

It really all depends on the individual. I didn't want to spend over $1000 (and managed to stay well under budget). However, as much as I wanted a beautiful gown, I guess I'm different from a lot of brides in the sense that I wasn't willing to spend too much for a dress I'll never wear again. And I'm not a sentimental person that would hold onto it to pass it on. But that's just me!

It was my big splurge, mine was $3200 but it did come under my $4-5,00 budget

after tax and alterations my gown will cost over $7,000 but that was my parents gift to me, I would never be able to buy that on my own.
