We going to have a justice of the peace and got a quote for $300. FH thinks that's high. I figure he is the most important part, without him we can't get married.

I got quotes from many officiants and the average price seems to be around $500. I've seen some as high as $650 and as low as $350.

Mine does it privately so it doesn't go to a church--there are many of them that do it for-profit...

The above is true, but there are those that do it for the love of uniting couples in marriage and only accept donations toward their church. Definitely call around. But $300 is not high - I was quoted $750 when I was getting married at my hall (a for profit one).

our rabbi is $600 to come to our site, and I have no idea what the priest is costing b/c it's the only thing FH's family is paying for- so it must be at least $10k, right? haha, JK
