how much is everyone spending on dj?

going nuts looking for dj i meet w one everything came to 3200.00 is that normal?
it includes 7 hr, gobo, dc mc, intelliegnt lighting 2 talls things, 2nd set up in ch room

We're spending $1200

includes:
a Dj and MC
2 plasma t.v's for photo montage
Zap shots
percussionist
party favors
intelligent lighting (although we no longer needed and will probably trade it in for something else)

i see alot of you used LI sound..and are getting pretty much the same stuff as us but paying a significant amount less. do you think the time of year ur getting married changes the price??

wow that is a great deal. Do you have a connection there? Or is that what they always offer for 1200.00?

We're spending a little more than that and getting: ceremony music, live cocktail hour musicians, dj & mc, italian singer, 20 uplights, deluxe lighting package, 3 plasmas, photo montage, zap shots with CD that night, extra hour added on for VH...think that's it

yeah considering all the extras i think thats sounds about right.... i think im somwhere around 3500 with all my add ons and everything

I've been looking at DJs and i keep getting these outragious prices that are not in my budget! You girls who found a dj for 1,000-2500.. what companies are you using?

I think some of it may have to do with your location too- - I am having my wedding at Giorgio's too, and someone told me not to tell vendors where the reception is yet, because they assume you have alot of money to spend, which is not the case at all!!! BUT I've definitely found that vendors I told the location vs did not tell the location caused a huge variation in my prices. Maybe I'm wrong....but on top of time of year, I think that may play a part.

We paid 1200 for the whole wedding (we could have had him in the cocktail hour for no additional charge) but opted not to. He brought his own lighting and he was awesome, best wedding DJ ever people danced the whole night.
