How much is normal to spend on Photography and Video?
I need a range so that I know what is expensive, and what is reasonable... also, anyone have any suggestion... I like photo journalism as well as the standard pics...

It can have a big range! From what i have seen from 3000-6000. But i am sure the $$ can go higher

It is a very wide range. Anywhere from $2000 - $10,000!! You have to realize also that what you may get for the lower end of the spectrum price may not be anywhere close to what you are looking for or close to what 'standard' wedding packages would include.

I spent $6500 on both and it was worth every penny. edited to say you get what you pay for

mine will be about 6500 between photo and video. Some people think that is waaayyy to much to spend, but I think that after that day is done, your pics are all you have.

I would say that, all things considered, I would have budgeted $3000 to $6000 for it. For me that was just impossible, so I searched high and low and found people I think are good (great!) for less. My whole budget for photo and video is about $2000. I got a great photographer for $1150 and I have a few contenders for video in the $800 range. Here's my webpage of budget vendors:
