How much is too much

I want to have a lot of dances

of course we will have the first dance
spotlight dance
father/daughter dance
mother\son dance
dance with our children
anniversary dance
dance with my mom

Is this too much dances? are my guest going to bored with so many dances?
What can I cut out?

Thanks

IMO it is alot. But its your day and you have to do what is meaningful/important to you.
We had alot of dancing as well and I felt like it really affected my guests dancing and everyone having a good time as opposed to watching me dance

IMO I would cut out the spotlight dance and do the dance with your children in place of it. That is what we did.

ETA: If your really worried about it & you wouldn't mind I have seen some couples do the daughter/father dance at the same time as the mother/son dance.

Some of these dances will be short. The mother/son daughter/father dances are usually only half the song. Keep it short and you can have all of your dances. The photog will get the pics, not to worry.

who cares if people think its too much.

Its your wedding - if you want to pull the head chef out from the kitchen and dance with him because you like the prime rib, then honey - dance away!!!!!!!

i would consider doing condesed version of some of these songs.... (mother/son) etc... this will save your a few mintues here and there.

keep in mind, you want you and your guest to party... the night will go FAST!!! trust me..i wish i was dancign more

You could narrow it down to just dancing to the chorus of the songs...or just the chorus for some of the songs.

Or you could start off with the Father Daughter dance with just you and your dad and to get everyone else ask the DJ to ask the crowd for all father/daughters to accompany you on the dance floor.

i think that like someone else said, you can cut out the spotlight dance... i think thats where guests might get bored- watching you and DH dance to 2 songs alone...
for all the other ones-- if you want to do them, its your wedding and they can get over it
