WOW how do some of you do it? Like how many guests are you having? i think this might be my problem we have too many, i mean just our reception alone is insane, i dont even wanna say lol

we are only having about 100-130 ppl....how can u afford it?? what is ur secret??

I am also trying to keep the wedding around 25 and under...FH and I came up with a compromise. He is going to make the payments for the hall, and I am going to pay for everything else.

me too!!! the reception alone is $$$
my mom, my dad, and fil are paying for their guests and we are paying for ours....

AND im not even getting married during a peak month!!!!

see thats my problem then i am having between 350-400 guests...Well were all helping out thats my secret, my parents, FH, Me, and his parents have given us recently too. Ive taken care of the installment by myself and down payment...Fh's parents gave us deposits for 2 things, my parents have given me some money, FH has paid for certain things. For me basically its not spending money lol, most of my money goes to the wedding and for now the e-party. When i get my paycheck i dont spend too much of it, and i save the rest

we're hoping for 200 but that's not including anyone under the age of 21....we havent decided what we're doing about that...and that's assuming a bunch of ppl are dateless/not bringing guests AND no work ppl for either of us.

hopefully some ppl wont be attending (which is not nice of me to say).

HAHAHA i've said the same thing lol so dont feel bad.

Yeah honestly its hard with the kid situation...I dont know what they said about how much kids cost but if its half price its not worth it, i mean basically you will be spending at least 100 per kid for chicken fingers and french fries lol, but dont know the policy for kids at oheka.

same thing...half price and we have soooo many little kids right now under the age of 10 its insane. and it wont even be fun. and its like we got a great price but with tax and tip it all adds up in the end....and then we have to say 21+ because we have a bunch of ppl 16+ and its just getting out of hand AND that's with us only having 20 friends total right now (the bare minimum we could have if we hadddd to) half of which consist of the bridal party...so its totally going to get out of hand and grow!

right now its not bad cuz we're basing everything on the minimum which is 125...but im just waiiiiiiting til the responses to the invites come in!

Yeah see thats what i mean its ALOT to spend for kids to attend the wedding, alot of parents dont seem to realize that and they get upset...I am telling you i think alot of parents think kids are free, yeah 2 and under and its not cheap at all...Plus i dont think its an even for children, my CH starts at 7:30 and reception at 8:30 i mean thats close to alot of their bedtimes. Its a sticky situation

you're lucky, i think about 120 is Fh's family and i am serious...70 were invited to the e-party and thats without inviting 2nd cousins and other family members lol

115-130 people, ideally.

I went through and cut out anyone who I didn't see as a huge part of our lives in the next 5-10 years....

I'm still agonizing over the guest list. I really don't want to have to cut out a ton of my college friends...but at the same time, we just can't afford it.

I'm still agonizing over the guest list. I really don't want to have to cut out a ton of my college friends...but at the same time, we just can't afford it.

see thats like me, i am an only child and dont have a big family well i do but they dont live in the states, its so funny comparing how many family members he will have and how many i will have at the wedding lol

its sooo hard especially because they say under 2 is free...so its like okay...i can have babies...but i cant invite only babies and not any other kids....and even when inviting the other kids...they wont be eating half the price of an adult plate anyway. ...so before tax and gratuity...im paying $70 bucks for kids to drink soda and have chicken fingers...and be bored...its not fair to anyone.

i might as well go to like mcdonalds and buy them all happy meals for like $5 bucks and they would be happier.

and its like i loooove little kids cuz they adorable...but its not worth it. as of right now im just planning on having the fg and rb...if they make it to the reception. im thinking we can hire a babysitter to play in the hotel room with them if needed.

I wonder if they would let you bring in happy meals for the kids lol but probably not.

I know i love kids too but its so hard...the babysitter thing is a good idea, ive seen people do that before for weddings
