How much is your wedding COSTING?

Original post by robynci1

Dear God, my stomach hurts....Is anyone else spending over $50,000 on their wedding. I feel so scared. How the hell are we going to save this amount of money? Is it worth it? Is anyone else in a panci? Need Support.....

From the Hall to everything else like the major vendors, Flowers, Photog, Band, Wedding Bands, Honeymoon, Tips, Limos, Church cost, Ceremony Music, Bagpiper, Dress, Veil, Headpiece, Favors, Accessories, etc etc etc... I mean EVERYTHING...

We are around $78,000

I can't believe I just admitted that and the more I look at it-- the more I'm realizing that I'm insane.

But you know what? We have been engaged for over two years, we work our BUTTS off to save for the part we are paying for (all of our vendors except the band, my dress, the tips, wedding rings and Honeymoon) and our parents are paying for (his side- their guests & the band, my side- their guests). Mom is covering the BS and MIL is covering the RD... So we really would not be able to do it without them.

It will be worth it in the end because we work hard and both of us really want to have a great wedding.

I actually haven't added it all up, but my estimation is about $35K

Def over $50K
I'm not counting: I saved on what I could have...invites (ppl throw them out), favors (come on...I throw them out), calligraphy (I swear: I don't remember at all what the envelopes looked like for weddings I've been invited to): BUT I really wanted certain things like: my own place (no other weddings), nice flowers, and a photographer who stole my heart & am juggling credit cards for the rest that I can't afford. You pay for the stuff you can't give up.

I did get help from our parents...I really don't believe MOST people could do this entirely on their own...PS: if so: pls tell me where I can send a job application. And I agree: if mom wants to invite 2 of her friends: she needs to know what that is going to cost. Extended family? They're expensive. If I just paid for the people who I would have invited: the bill would be MUCH less & there would be fewer than 50 ppl at the thing.

We're going to end up paying about 17K. We are having all of the best food, flowers, pictures etc., but kept the list down.

We originally wnated to stay under $30k but when you figure in everything from the hall to the stamps for the invites we are almost double that. It kills we because we are paying for 75% of it ourselfs but FH keeps telling me not to stress out about it.

the costs are disgusting! especially figuring in engagement ring, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and honeymoon... not to even mention the cost to everyone else too!

but so worth it!!!!

Right now, it looks like everything will come to about $13,000. We're paying for everything ourselves. We wanted to stay at $10k, but that just wasn't possible.

The budget we had set out on was 30k NOT including the HM. So far we are at about 2k under. I figure this difference covers details I have yet to get as well as tips. The honeymoon is about 3k. I am fine with the amount we spent. We set up a strict budget and made sure to follow it. God bless you girls with huge weddings.

I think with everything (including Hawaii for 2 weeks and a sat night wedding) I think we are spending about 75,000. I am shocked that it came to that much. My parents are helping us a lot, though.

Ours will cost around $38 thousand! It's crazy because to calm myself I think 'this day will only come once and its so special' then I think 'this day will only be one day for how much money?' That # is not including our $12 thousand HM! My parents are helping a lot though.

I think ours will come in at around $30,000 maybe a little less not including honeymoon. We are very happy with our price range. We had a strict budget and kept to it

The good thing is we already purchase an apt so our budget is $50K but we are not planning to spend it all. The more we save the better bathroom I'll get (we're planning to put jacuzzi in our bathroom)
