How much prior to a wedding should I have the Bridal Shower???
I think I need to start planning my friends Bridal Shower, if her wedding is December 15th (not really December 15th though) what would be a good date to have it?
*I'm using 'dummy' dates so my friend doesn't come on here and see's her wedding date and know who I am.

I think w/in the 3 months before is perfect.
In your case 'September/October'

Totally agree... that's when most showers are.

Re: How much prior to a wedding should I have the Bridal Shower???
sigh... I'm a bit worried about my shower date. My mom has no clue about showers (she's european-no showers there!) and she's the official planner. I don't know the exact date...
I wanted to give her the basics of when approx it should be, and what should be done. When I told her that march-ish is ideal, she commented 'oh it will be MUCH later than that!'
I really hope my shower won't be butting directly against the wedding..... like mid to late may....
She says it's too late to change the date.... oh well...... I guess there's no sense in worrying about things I cannot change....

I think about 3 months before is a substancial time period. My shower was April 22, and my wedding was July 7. It worked out perfectly because DH and I had never been on our own before, so we needed all our appliances, and we moves in *10 DAYS* before the shower! Talk about perfect timing!

If you really want to surprise her I would do it earlier rather than later. I had my shower the end of June and I got married in late October.
