I am just starting to search for flowers and was wondering what is a reasonable amount to pay for them. I have heard good things about Burton's, has anyone used them and gotten a quote that you wouldn't mind sharing? I will be having about 150 people and have 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen.
Thanks so much!

Re: How much should flowers cost?
It really depends on what you want. Low centerpieces typically cost less than high centerpieces. Some flowers cost more. We paid about $2500 for flowers. We had 18 tables with high centerpieces, my bouquet was all white peonies and a throw bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 12 boutennieres (10 gms, 2 fathers), 3 corsages (2 mothers, 1 grandmother), and 2 flower girl baskets with tea roses. I agree... it depends...
Mine's going to be 20 low centerpieces w/ stone vases (to keep, not rent), a cascading bok with white roses and orchids, a throw away, 4 BM boks (I think... don't quote that), 14 bout's, an orchid one for the groom, 2 mothers boks, 2 jr BMs bok, flower girl basket and petals. Under $2500

Another it depends. It depends on how important it is to you. Flowers, for me, weren't a big thing. Up until 3 months before the wedding, I was considering doing DIY non-floral centerpieces, like lanterns with candles in them. I changed my mind and booked our florist at 3 months out. I contacted maybe 3 or 4 different places for pricing and only met with one. And booked her on the spot.

Re: How much should flowers cost?
If you want pricey flowers, B urton's might be most cost effective. They charge by the size, not the type of flower.

Re: How much should flowers cost?
I have yet to hear bad things about B U R T O N S. I booked our appts for 9/3/11; so far they have been super nice. They also have a dress store upstairs, and they are reasonable as well.
As for how long, I have 611 days left and i am looking to book. In my head i woudl rahter pay 2011 prices for 2013.

Re: How much should flowers cost?
would recommend going to a local florist over a big wedding florist. The prices a lot of times are a lot better. I went all out, and am paying under 2 grand.

Re: How much should flowers cost?
I'm going with a local florist who was recommended to me through a friend as they used them for their wedding and they were inexpensive and did a great job. They're East Willison Florist in Mineola on Jericho Tpke. I worked with Pam.
I went to a few places, Cress Florist & The Flower Barn in Seaford and they beat both prices. I have a small wedding party and am only getting 12 high centerpieces as well as boutonnieres (3), 2 corsages for the moms, my bouquet and 2 bridesmaids bouquets and it's costing me under $1200 which is the best price I was quoted and they were really laid back, friendly people. Good luck!
