How much should I expect to spend on dance lessons?
How many lessons did you take/plan on taking?

I just starting looking into this. They recommend that you start taking them atleast 6 months prior to the wedding, a min of 4 lessons. I am not sure I of the cost, but I think average is $30 a lesson. I am not sure where we are going to take them yet, but we are thinking Arthur Murray. HTH

We just signed up for a package at arthur murray. its 6 private lessons, 6 group lessons and 3 practice sessions. It was about 675 dollars

WHOAH!
heh, FH didn't want to go to a studio becuase he wanted to learn in private.... get several DVDs on amazon. we did, and it's working out quite well... he no longer has 2 left feet....

It depends on what you're looking for. I saw someone post about Kerensa who offers 10 private lessons for $700 (each lesson is 50 min). I don't remember where the post is though.
This other place in Manhattan is $90/hour for a private lesson...

We signed up for 10 private lesson @ 50 min for $700, but its sooo worth it!! Empire Dance on West 25th in Chelsea.

My friend told me about a way to do it for $100!! Its not as personalized, but her sister did it and just paid a little extra for private lessons. A lot of school districts offer continuing ed classes and one of them that I found at a few districts is ballroom dancing. Just a though to save a TON of money!

Boces does a dance class at nights and its about 75 per person for the session...

Wow I had no idea lessons would be that much! FH can dance he just wanted us to learn like a tango or something to bust out at the wedding!! Since we have some time,maybe I'll try the dvd's first!
