How much should I give to a wedding I won't attend?
A friend has an out of state wedding that I won't be going to. How much should we give?

Depending on how good the friend is, I'd start at $100. The closer the friend, the more money I'd give.

I agree - $100 is fine if you want to give cash. Otherwise a gift from the registry in the $100 range.

I agree..or even if they have a lot left on the registry and spend about the same you would give in cash...

I think $100 is more than sufficient. If they're not from the area they may not even expect to get cash. Most other states give gifts, not money, so you could always send something from their registry. Or if you want to put more thought into it, find out where they're honeymooning and get them a gift certificate for something on their honeymoon. (ie: 2 half hour massages, dinner gc, sunset cruise, etc... you get the idea)

I would give $100 or send a gift. I think that is really nice.

I think if a person's not going, even $50-$75 is sufficent. Let's be realistic, you're probably saving them $100 and then giving them money on top of that.

I'd say a gift off of the registry would be nice. In the $75-$100 range.
