FSIL baby shower is in a couple of weeks , how much should I spend on a gift for her? FH said 100 but I thought that sounded a little low and then he thought I was crazy.

How close are you with her? And are you putting anything into the shower itself?

She lives in DC and I talk to her every so often, maybe have seen her in person around 15 times? Her friends (not even FMIL- long story) did the shower so I didnt plan any of it.

Then I'd probably say $100-$150

Re: How much should I spend for
I would probably spend more than a $100. For FH's sister and sister-in-law, I bought them both a big gift (one a car seta, the other a stroller) and a ton of clothes. I actually ended up spending $400-$500 when all was said and done. That might have been excessive, but I bought the clothes over time so I didnt realize!

Re: How much should I spend for
It depends on what you plan on buying her. If its one big item off her registry you may end up spending $150 otherwise $100 in smaller stuff like clothes, bottles, diapers will be fine too. But I wouldnt do any less then $100. Keep in mind you'll want to give her something when the babies born too. Congrats on being an aunt.

Re: How much should I spend for
For SIL's baby shower at the time of her baby shower I wasn't very happy with her, she had said alot of stuff about me beforehand and I still went overboard like I always do, I spent about $150 on her, plus I mad all the favors for her shower
