I was just curious after the 'AC Moor and Michaels' post earlier... it's still a year+ (or around a year) for a lot of us... so what wedding stuff do you already have lying around? Are you really buying things this early just to keep them around? What have you bought?
I'm just worried about doing things too early and having them lying around... it's one thing to book vendors because they book up... but what about other stuff?

I have a fair amount of stuff but I'm a year out. I have my guest book and pen, baskets, cake topper, favors veil and comb, garter, dress (here), shoes, toasting flutes etc.

I have my knife and cake cutter, garter, ring pillow, toasting flutes, money bag, picture frame to put our engagement picture in and I there is more but I can't think of it right now.

I am not worried since I have seen so many photos from weddings that I know most of my ideas are very unique. If I see something I like better I will just suck it up and move on. You have to make final decisions. For me, I didnt want to scramble to get all the small stuff done a week b4 the wedding. I will be a relaxed bride.

So much more.

I have my DIY stuff here, it's only one big bag so far. I have my memory candles, frames for the pictures, ribbon, vellum, tape, just little stuff like that. But it's sure adding up. There are things we have yet to order, and thats going to take up more space as well. Not to mention my little bambino on the way, who we're trying to make room for too!!

So far I have my garters, favors (tins and coasters), pretty paper for either my petal cones or pew cones, shoes, and the most important thing of all.........a GLUE GUN!!!!!
I have to go to Bed Bath and Beyond or someplace to buy one of those big bins because my stuff is everywhere!!

well, at least that's one person I have more stuff than!
It's kind of funny though how we're all planning so far in advance and in other places in the country people would look at us like we're nuts for planning more than a year in advance, never mind buying all this stuff! I'm also on a national board, and let me tell you, long term planning is MUCH less common there than here!

I really don't have any 'stuff' yet. I have no where to put these things (we're in between homes right now) and in my family, traditionally brides are given the money bag, ring pilliow, toasting flutes, ect at her shower. I am sure I will get most of my things then.
